These subject areas are presented throughout the school day:

Practical Life: Children learn how to take care of themselves, be kind to and work with others, move carefully within space, and take care of the school environment while developing sense of order, concentration, fine and gross motor skills, and independence.

Sensorial: These activities help children observe, differentiate, clarify, classify and comprehend the world’s myriad colors, forms, touches, smells, tastes, sounds, shapes and sizes.

Mathematics: Our mathematics curriculum focuses first on names and concepts of numbers, then moves on to explore addition, subtraction, and basic algebraic and geometric concepts via the use of concrete materials.

English Language: Children learn to speak, listen, read and write using phonics and exposure to a wide variety of quality children’s fiction and non-fiction literature.

Science: Children engage in the scientific process of observing, forming questions, testing, and gathering data as they engage in gardening, study of botany, study meteorology and astronomy, learn to differentiate between living and non-living entities, explore natural processes and phenomena, learn basic environmental stewardship, and study zoology.

Geography & Culture: Knowledge of children’s immediate world is expanded past those boundaries to explore the whole earth, its natural major features and biomes, learn to read maps, as well as gain knowledge of and respect for the different people and cultures that inhabit the earth.

Art & Music: Creativity and sense of rhythm are developed and nurtured, as well as appreciation for aesthetics and the fine arts which enhance and enrich our daily lives.

Free Play: Indoor and outdoor activities help children to relate to others, as well as take turns and develop fine and gross motor skills.

In addition to regular activities, we offer extracurricular activities such as choir, dance, martial arts, keyboard, music, art, and gymnastics. Choices may vary and are subject to availability.

After-School

Foreign Language: speaking and writing Chinese (Traditional or Simplified), or Spanish

English: Development of reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills through the Structured Reading Program

Mathematics: Reinforcement of mathematical concepts as well as improvement of analytical skills and mathematical reasoning

Computer: Development of computer skills through different levels of educational software

Arts & Crafts: Hands-on art projects and activities to foster creativity and craftsmanship

Homework Clinic: Homework supervision and support
